To Compost: Compost Banao, Compost Apnao’

Segregation of waste is turning out to be a huge problem for India. Lack of awareness on dry and wet waste has led to dumping of tons of waste in landfills, which in turn is becoming a health hazards for the citizens of India. From  last three months Our college students with our college Gardeners has been stepping up efforts to encourage conversion of biodegradable waste into compost, for use as fertilizer, and reduce the amount of waste going to landfill sites. Organic manures are composed of dead plant and contain plant nutrients. They are applied to the soil to increase crop production.

Our Gardeners made it by Digging two holes in different area in the ground, more than 3 feet deep by 3 feet wide then fills it with cow or buffalo dung, plants leaves and kitchen wastes from canteen, green grass and field soil By spreading every content in 4 inch thick layer one by one, repeating till the height is nearly reach. Finally water is added to the contents. As we know Composting is beneficial to homeowners for several reasons. It allows for the recycling of kitchen scraps and the creation of a natural fertilizer for garden plants and vegetables.
